Does diversity help organizations perform better? Ask many organizations today and the answer is a resounding “yes.” What began for many as an effort to meet governmental and legal requirements has evolved into a strategic priority aimed at positioning organizations more competitively in the marketplace. Organizations devote resources to diversity initiatives because they believe diversity is a business imperative and good for the bottom line.

Sarah leads a global, industry-recognized, external I&D program portfolio for our key stakeholders: candidates, members, societies and institutions.An experienced investment professional, Sarah joins us from Majedie Asset Management, an independent global investment firm based in the UK, where she was Client Communications Director and Head of Stewardship. In this role, she focused on ESG, especially governance, with a keen interest in how companies can achieve success through improving inclusion in stewardship. She earned her MA degree in English Language and Literature at Trinity College, Oxford, holds the ASIP and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development.
Sam Austin, Partner and Chair of Diversity & Inclusion Board, NEPC, LLC (Redwood City, CA, USA)
Sam manages NEPC’s Western Region public fund consulting activities. For 32 years, Sam has offered consulting advice to public fund, corporate, multi-employer, endowment and eleemosynary clients. In 2020, he was elected by his fellow Partners to represent them on NEPC’s Executive Committee. Sam also serves as Chair of the firm’s Diversity & Inclusion Board, Co-Chair of the Diverse Manager Committee and a member of the Impact Investing Committee.
Kellie Sauls, Director of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Teacher Retirement System of Texas (Austin, TX, USA)
Kellie is an experienced professional in Higher Education leading Student Affairs, Admissions and Financial Aid, as well as Diversity and Inclusion recruiting, programming and initiatives. She is skilled in working with Nonprofit Organizations, Career Development, Training and Workshop Facilitation, Fundraising, and Management. Kellie has an executive education program certificate focused in Women Leaders from University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
