Setting a higher standard for the Austin investment community

 VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

 Membership Committee                                                                                               Contact Nancy McCarthy
  • Members to greet/sit with/potentially sponsor a guest interested in becoming a member of our chapter. Looking for several volunteers with different backgrounds to match to the guest’s background, i.e. Venture Capital, Private Equity, Institutional Buy Side, Private Wealth Management, Corporate, etc.
  • Assist the Committee chair with various projects that help to improve membership experience
  • Approving, updating/maintaining membership records through the web-based portal 
  • Time commitment is ~ 2-3 hours per month

 Educational and Social/Special Events                                                                         Contact Sara Seely

  • 3-4 people are needed to help with check-in at events and assist with distributing/collecting surveys.  Volunteers will alternate/rotate events as schedules permit.

  •  Speaker Coordinator / Program Development
    •  Invite and communication with speakers
    • Coordinate with the speakers regarding the event, topics, format, travel logistics, hotel reservations, etc
    • Develop agenda/flow of the evening
  • Venue Coordinator
    • Primary contact for the venue regarding room layout, seating, setup, menu, parking, etc
    • Coordinate technical, audiovisual needs (laptop, projector, screen, recording, etc) and act as primary contact for venue AV representative
  • Marketing Coordinators (2+ people preferred)
    • Oversee production and distribution of written materials (brochure, invitation, program, signs, etc)
    • Coordinate website announcements and email distribution of invitations
    • Coordinate any advertisement and/or media coverage of even
  • Sponsorship Coordinator
    • Oversee the list of potential sponsors, list of contacts, who is responsible for reaching out to potential sponsors
    • Primary contact for committed sponsors to coordinate their list of attendees, collect payment, get logo in time for printed materials, make sure appropriate logo placement is given, answer questions, etc.
  • Attendance Coordinator
    • Keep tract of headcount (members, guests, table sales, sponsors, etc)
    • Work with CFAI system for RSVPs
    • Coordinate seating assignments
    • Work with admin for nametags, placecards, and check-in procedures
  • Check-in table assistance
    • 4 people will be needed the day of the event to work the check-in table so that guests can quickly check-in and other team members are working to make sure setup is complete
  • Time commitment for all coordinators is 4-5 hours per month September through January/February, with more time needed during the 2 weeks leading up to the dinner.  Check-in table assistance time commitment is approximately 3 hours on the night of the dinner.

Technology Committee                                                                                                         Contact Richard Campbell

  • Assist with maintaining the society website
  • Time commitment is ~  2 hours per month
